Thasos or Thassos is a Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea, close to the coast of Thrace and the plain of the river Nestosbut geographically part of Macedonia. It is the northernmost Greek island, and 12th largest by area.
Thasos is also the name of the largest town of the island, situated at the northern side, opposite the mainland and about 10 kilometers from Keramoti.
It can be called heaven on earth. Thasos has generally round shape, without deep bays and significant peninsulas. This island is covered with water from all sides so most of its cities are at beach. All these beaches are very beautiful.
The capital of the island of Thassos – Limenas port, full of the many beaches and attractions such as the ancient Agora and the theater, the church of St. Nicholas and Vatopedi monastery, and cozy restaurants, ready to discover the culinary secrets of the Greeks.
The second largest city of Thassos – Limenaria, famous for its excellent beaches. One of the local sights – a palace and fortress Palataki. Also interesting are the village of Thassos with an abundance of houses, monasteries and temples. When you will visit those beaches you will feel yourself near to nature and god.
