“Hunan Zhangjiajie National Forest Park”, is the national forest park located in located in Zhangjiajie City in northern Hunan Province in the Republic of China. It is one of the most beautiful and unique park of China. This park is included within the Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
This park covers the area of 11,900 acres and was recognized as China’s first national park in 1982. In 2001 this park was approved as Zhangjiajie Sandstone Peak Forest National Geopark (3,600 km2 (1,400 sq mi)) by the Ministry of Land and Resources. UNESCO listed Zhangjiajie Geopark as a Global Geopark in 2004.
The most attractive feature of these parks is their pillar-like structures formed due to the erosion for many years which can be seen throughout the park. Due to wettish weather of this park, the leafage of this park is very dense or impenetrable. The erosion which is the reason behind the formation of these pillar-like structures is due to the flourishing of ice in winters and plants grown on them.
These pillars can be found on many Chinese paintings which are the unique style marks for the Chinese landscapes. The beautiful landscapes created by them are also used by the directors for the shooting of their films.

Zhangjiajie National Parks can be called as Pandora on Earth. Shoot taken of the floating pillars shown in movies are from this park only, but instead these pillars are not floating in reality.
