Motorola will announce its flagship Edge+ in India to act as a competitor to the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G and OnePlus 8 Pro. The Edge+ is not alone as Motorola will launch another phone in the budget segment, albeit two days later. As a part of the Moto G8 lineup, the G8 Power Lite will end up as an affordable and alternative competitor to the Motorola G8 Plus that we all saw last year in India. The “Lite” moniker forecasts that Motorola is focusing on the essentials with the phone, and if we are after high-end specifications, we will not get it on this phone.

The G8 Power Lite while being launched as an entry-level to the Moto G series last year in Brazil, and therefore, the specifications are quite basic and entry-level. The notable highlight on the G8 Power Lite is only its big 5000mAh battery. This feature has been drawn from the older model, Motorola One Power. The design of the phone copies the Motorola G8 Plus, genuinely complete with the triple camera.

When it comes to the internals setup, the G8 Power Lite doesn’t promise much to customers’ hopes. The phone is using a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset that is well paired to 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. The display screen measures 6.5-inches and is having a modern notch-like design. But it is HD resolution with an LCD panel. It should help with longer battery life, given that the 15000mAh battery will be pushing lesser pixels. Motorola totals a 10W charger on the international model.

As for the camera, the front camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor. There are three units in the back. The primary camera is the company rated at 16-megapixels with a lens aperture of F2.0. It is accompanied by an average sounding 2-megapixel macro camera and one depth camera. The G8 Power Lite offers a fingerprint sensor also at the back panel.

You may expect the Motorola G8 Power Lite to be priced lesser than Rs 10,000 with given the specifications. This phone could compete with the recently launched Realme Narzo 10A, given the current smartphone market dynamics. The Narzo 10A ends up with a better chipset than the G8 Power Lite, and+ hence, Motorola will have a tough challenge on its hands convincing people to buy it.
