It’s wonder to see human creativity. The project of the Russian State Library is an example of this incredible creativity. This library for Young People is makes you think that where you are.
It starts with a surprise is the threshold – the first thing visitors are greeted by a car which has been used as a symbol of library. According to Anton, the idea of a “chip” was emerged from the fact that an appropriate-sized car was “invalidka” from “Operation Y” which is being used there.
The architecture of building is very different and here some repairing work is also done. The result of repair of the Russian State Library for young people is reflected in the division of building into two parts.
One part is for for mind and soul where business reading of natural sciences, engineering, social, humanities, foreign languages is done and in the second half there is a computer library, a hall with comic books and periodicals for easy reading, rare book room.
There is also available a separate room of literature and art with a special fund for the visual arts which includes design and digital photos.
Each room of the library is very innovative, different and interesting in itself. In every room a sight reveals graffiti on the walls. These graffiti includes world famous newspaper headlines, the girl in the anime, which says a Latin proverb “Omnia vincit Amor” which means “Love conquers all”, or cartoon characters in the hall comics.
Colors are also one of the most attractive things there. It is good to see that this place is full of diversity because of its different interior design; it performs a useful function – namely, the separation of rooms by categories which is finest in itself.
Different colors are used for e.g. the green paint in the hall with educational literature and orange – in foreign languages, pastel – in the comics, bright red – in the halls and cafes. The colored arrows on the floor tell about the path and prompt way to have gone astray.
One more attraction is fire and Panel protection, video surveillance, the output of all the information on a computer access system – in terms of IT-technology.
This part of library is framed by 100. Anton Purnik, head of project management says ”We already have the equipment, giving readers an opportunity to work with the library fund: it’s copiers, and stations around the clock return, and, most importantly, self-service stations operating on the basis of RFID technology (English Radio Frequency IDentification – RFID) where people can register yourself for a literature and take it home.”
It is a place which not only issues book but also is fashionable, aesthetically pleasing, technologically equipped with a smart house culture!

“In our practice we have seen quite a few interiors, but this project is the first time make out. The very realization that the combination of the newest technologies with its sleek design created for a public institution, and most importantly – for young people – gave us the extra energy in the realization of creative ideas!
That’s why we have reacted to the project with particular trepidation, charged with energy guys who want to provide every detail. In our project, only tempered glass – the emphasis on safety first!
Wow, what an abundance of glass makes the library construction is lighter, roomier, and smarter.” So this a unique library and a must visit place.
